The American Red Cross society is a charitable and non-profit organization and works towards assisting victims of international disasters too. It has a proven track record of providing relief operations not only in the US but other countries as well. In the recent times, the society has played a vital role in organizing relief operations for the 2004 South Asia tsunami victims. It is involved with many international projects such as the Measles initiative and Malaria programs in Africa.
